Hat Revolation

When your'e inside your house with your best friends, you can do, say, or wear anything you want to. For some reason, I've had this black floppy hat from H&M for months now, and I can't seem to build up enough courage to wear it outside of my comfort zone! :( It so cute and perfect for fall and looks good with almost everything. I think it is time to sit that bad boy on top of my head and say "hello" to a new day!

AMDA St. Louis Trip!

The Apparel Merchandising and Design Association at Illinois State University took a little trip to St. Louis, Missouri to check out a few things, such as The Brown Shoe Company, Skif International, ALIVE Magazine and a "Rogue to Vogue" fashion/art exhibit.

The Brown Shoe Company: There we learned about how the designers design the shoes, the production process and then how they make changes each season so that each shoe is more suitable for the consumer.

Skif International: Known for their sweaters featured in the Matrix movies, Skif International is an independent sweater company, that makes and distributes their own unique style of sweaters straight from their building. Here are a few pictures from inside the creative mind of Skif.

ALIVE Magazine: We spoke with the editor and publisher of the magazine, who shared how they put the whole magazine together, which artists and actors they've worked with and what they love about their jobs at ALIVE. We each got to take a magazine as a souvenir, so of course I chose the Fall Fashion Issue with Karlie Kloss on the cover page. For not being a magazine focused solely on fashion, their runway report was surprisingly interesting!

"Rogue to Vogue" Exhibit: In this exhibit, we got to see local artists use unlikely objects and materials to make innovative and stylish outfits.

PONCHO TIME!

For some reason, I'm totally obsessed with the poncho look that's popular right now. In the fall, what more do people want to wear, than a blanket that counts as a stylish shirt/dress!? Come on, It's great. You can just throw it on over a pair of leggings, skinny jeans or skirt, and your ready to go. By far one of the best purchases I've made this fall and it goes great with everything, and can be worn with heels or flats. I've always been a fan of loose on top and skinny on bottom, it makes for a more slimming outfit.

Halloween/ 20th birthday!

I just turned 20 on October 28th, so to celebrate this day, which was also on the Friday of halloween weekend, me and my friend Yvonne decided to dress up as the white and black swan from the movie Black Swan and check out some Halloween parties.  Here is a picture of our costumes which I thought were represented pretty accurately, if I do say so myself ;) and what a great birthday it was! I got to spend time with my best friends and my twin brother too, happy birthday Sammy!

Alexander McQueens S/S 2012 Collection

Soo, at the beginning of the post I was going to show my favorite design from the Valetino, Alexander McQueen, Lavin, Balenciaga, Balmain, and Manish Arora S/S 2012 Collections.. but as I was sitting admiring the works of Alexander McQueen and struggling to pick my absolute favorite, I decided his genius would be insulted if I only deticated one picture to the post, SO Im going to dedicate the whole thing to him! He truly was an amazing designer and his pieces are phenomenal to say the least. Thank you Alexander McQueen for gracing us with your incredible, mind boggling and unique designs :)

Jumpsuit Do's and Don'ts

Jumpsuits are definitely taking off in many clothing stores such as Zara, ASOS and Topshop. They are comfortable, fun and easy to wear. They can make or break an outfit so its important that you choose the right jumpsuit for you that fits your personality and style. If you've never bought a jumpsuit before, or are not sure what jumpsuits are too over the top, here are few examples I found from ASOS.com of some do's and don'ts when it comes to picking out your own jumpsuit.

Do's:

Don'ts: I beg you all NEVER to wear the striped black and grey jumpsuit, it is atrocious.
